The Oxford dictionary defines a ‘trope’ as a theme that is important or repeated in literature, films, etc. There are over 100 different tropes in romance fiction. Famous examples are enemies to lovers, grumpy/sunshine, opposites attract, and fake relationships.
In the Heated Tropes Book Club, as a group, we will explore a different trope every month to discover new areas of romance that we may have on our own previously overlooked.
Every month members will choose from 3 different themed titles, the most voted on wins. (Votes will be held on the Facebook group page). No need to purchase the books, they will be provided to you to read during the month, just return them at the next book club.
The book club will meet the 3rd Thursday of the month from 6pm-6:45pm in the community room at the library.
To join, visit the Facebook Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/heatedtropesbookclub and request an invite. If you have any further questions, you can email Erin at dowagiaclibrarystaff@gmail.com or call 782-3826.
