Children ages 8-12 are invited to join STEAM for Tweens, a new science program designed to engage young minds to think like a scientist. STEAM  for Tweens will meet at 4 pm in the Pokagon Room on the second level of the library.

Phases of the Moon:  Did you see the eclipse in October when the moon passed between the Earth and sun? Did you know the moon averages about 238,600 miles from Earth and moves away from the Earth about 2.8 cm every year.  Twelve humans have even walked on the moon!  In this edible science activity, you will manipulate Oreo cookies to match the moon phase name with a moon phase appearance.  

Learning about moon phases while eating Oreo cookies is about as good as it gets! Come to this STEAM for Tweens activity to see how tasty science can be!
